I've seen those pens before and wondered how well they worked. Now I know! They look fantastic!! And that is a great gift idea on a low budget!

I think that these are the pens she used. I've seen them at craft stores like Hobby Lobby

Awesome mugs! Did you have any problems with the paint being runny or anything like that?

Oh my god. Those are absolutely adorable.

My favorite one though is the L4D one. Sooooooo awesome.

I'm thinking about making my bf one of those now! I hope you don't mind I steal an idea! =D

Again, great job.

Wow! Thank you all for the wonderful comments.  Smiley

The brand of pen I used was Porcelaine by pebeo and I bought it at Michaels. It's a fine tipped ceramic paint pen. They come in tons of colors and multiple tip sizes.

Tips: It works like any other paint pen with the pumping mechanism and the shaking. The paint itself sets up pretty quickly, so work in small areas at a time and finish an area before you start another. If the paint dries and you want to change the design or fix something before you bake it, I used an exacto knife to carefully scrape off the paint. Also, be patient with the paint pen because the tip will get clogged. I suggest keeping a scrap piece of paper or paper towel to help un-gunk the end and make sure the paint stays running.

I have to tell you that I really like these too! You are very good at "mug design".  Cheesy

I will be giving this a try. Thanks for sharing the good idea.
