This was made as a Christmas gift for my sister in 2007.


Based on various works by Frida Kahlo. Made of clay, wood, lace, beading, ribbon, artificial birds and flowers, and ceramic tile as the base. Painted with acrylic.

I'm not sure if this belongs in this category or "More Art, Less Craft", but since it is a sculpture mainly made of clay I've put it here.

This is really cool! I love ho you used different elements of her artwork in your homage to her. I remember first seeing her artwork in middle school and being completely shocked and awed at her subject matter and creativity.
