I have been making mostly outdoor items in pottery lately. Here are some of my newest. They are both handbuilt out of light brown stoneware clay. This is my favorite:
and the leaf-thatched roof:
and a little closer, to see the leaf/glaze detail:
The base is dipped in clear and the roof in red-to-brown.
I rolled the slab out on a grid like mat before handbuilding. And the top:
I used underglaze to paint some of the blocks, at first it was just going to be dots, but when I looked closer I thought of Tetris. If you look close you can see the different tetris shapes I glazed on. Why? because I'm a nerd. Then I dipped in a clear glaze so it would be nice and shiny.
Thanks for looking!
