So just about 30 min I was at my local goodwill and found a brother sewing machine model# 1044281 with no foot pedal, manual, or bobbin case for $7.99 I know that I it sucks that the machine was missing all of that, but for that price I couldn't pass it up! It was in great cosmetic condition, its white with red (pretty)...any one by any chance have a manual for this machine??? Where can i find one? I have searched all over the net and no luck! thanks in advance!!

The Brother website has some manuals.

Where on the machine did you find that model number? On the motor? If so, that's not the model number.

Obviously, this is a Brother that was sold to Sears as an "exclusive" model for them. Chances are REALLY high that is is extremely similar to some other Brother model sold at the time.  So, just look for a manual for a similar looking machine.  Once you locate the model number of a similar looking machine, check the Brother website.  They have free downloads for quite a few of their models including a few older ones.

What are the first, three, smaller numbers on the model number?? 258 or 268??
