I made this for my brother for Christmas--I made the tie myself (traced the pattern from an old tie of my husband's and sewed it together) and then embroidered it with the heart and the eyeball from Jenny's Vital Organs set. My brother loved it!

(I am the worst at ironing! I always end up with wrinkles. Does that mean I'm stitching too tightly?)

back:

If I had been smart, I would have left the tie open, stitched it, and then stitched it closed in the back so all those threads were hidden. But I'm not smart. Wink

Very fun!

When you get wrinkles, it typically does mean that you are stitching too tight. Are you using a hoop or any stabilizer? Because that would definitely help.

It's awesome! And don't worry, most people wont see the stitches on the back, they'll be too distracted by the beauty on the front!

Thanks for all the compliments everyone, I really appreciate it!

I do use a hoop now (I didn't for awhile) and it's gotten better since I started using one, but I still think I stitch too tight. I gotta relax more, man! Wink

You could do what I do and have a little drinky (cuba libres anyone?) before I start a "session". Knitting I can have some during and sewing the drinks have to wait until after as a reward.

Very awesome tie!
