I've never done a tea towel swap before (but have been stalking them all for over a year now) and just now had the courage to join in one!  I was wondering about one little detail -- where does everyone get their towels??  I purchased some for another swap at Wal-Mart, and they were HUGE and very thin.

This too is my first tea towel swap... so I am super excited to participate. I have found tea towels at my local craft store that I frequent... but if you go to Sublime Stitching, she sells tea towels on there. I heard that the tea towels are fantastic quality.

Oops! My daughter bumped the key board. I meant to say: Kmart has Martha Stewart tea towels 3 for 7 bucks. JoAnns, Michaels and AC Moore in my area did NOT carry them! There are also a lot of online sources, but often you have to buy in bulk, or pay a lot of shipping. Maybe someone else has found a cheap online source?

I have purchased towels online from Sublime Stitching and those are great to stitch on.  I have also purchased the big flour sack towels (which I love to stitch on) from www.dharmatradingcompany.com and I have purchased towels from www.colonialpatterns.com that were good too--they have some that are striped and vintage-y looking that I love!

I love the Aunt Martha's vintage striped towels as well. They can be found on Colonialpatterns.com and when one is lucky, at Hobby Lobby. Smiley

I got 4 Martha Stewart towels at KMart for $7. Actually, I got 2 packs. I'm excited to do some embroidery. I found some good deals online (although I didn't check the shipping costs) but can't wait to have them sent to me.
