Filler squares are squares made that aren't from this crochet along, there are 2 older crochet alongs from 07 and 08 that we can get patterns from.

Basically if someone wants to do this CAL but wants to make an afghan bigger than lap-sized, they use "fillers" to account for the extra squares needed! Usually that means 2 squares a month, one in the CAL pattern and one filler, to make a 6"x4" afghan but I'm sure others have done different sizes too.

Yup, that's what I'm doing! I've got to get around to doing the Ravelry square, but it doesn't excite me...

I'm doing the same thing--I think.  I know it's only two squares a month, but I'm so new to crochet and I'm so SLOW, I hope I can keep up!

P.S.  Is it okay to post Ravelry questions here or should I really post them on Ravelry?  I feel more comfortable here.

phew! I'm glad you think my color combination for February is good... I am not fond of the typical hearts-are-red-or-pink stuff, but I'm the worst at combining  Roll Eyes

hope to see more squares popping out! I still need to do a filler for this month, then wait for March

Oh, yay!  I finished the February Ravelry square ("Two Tone" by Dayna  Audirsch).  I guess I'm getting better at crocheting because I used the recommended "I" hook and got it to come out to 12"!
