It looks great, sarahj! I really love seeing how all of the blocks and colors look when they are put together. And, I really need to get my butt in gear and finish mine (and mine is only 12 blocks!).

Guess what! Here's the finished afghan!

I didn't quite follow this CAL, I replaced some squares with others and didn't finish it in time. This was supposed to be a wedding gift for my friends, but I lost my interest in making it when I found out that I couldn't go to the wedding. I had all the squares made in the beginning of this year, but I didn't join them until august or september. Then I gave it to my friends (they moved recently, so it was kind of combined house warming and wedding gift) and forgot to take a picture first. But now I have visited them with my camera and here's the afghan on their sofa.

You finished it!  What a wonderful afghan!  You are lucky to have picture of something you worked so hard on...it is stunning to look at!  The colors and motifs are just so warm and interesting...wow

heini, no matter how or when you finished it, the result is beautiful! Is it you that uses yarns dyed by your mom? Those colors are gorgeous! Great job!

Sad to report that my pink pile of squares remains a pink pile of squares... but vacation starts in 3 days!!

Thank you. And yes, my mum has dyed all the yarns.

Lovely, lovely colors! I just dyed up my first batch of wool a few days ago (I used the Kool-aid method) and had so much fun, I want to try some other things. I'm going to stick with pre-made dyes for now, but then I think that the cranberries and blueberries in the freezer will eventually end up in the dye pot!
