So I've been experimenting with the TKB Pops and I'm getting some lovely bright colors. Some are just not bright enough for what I want (Sugarpill kind of brightness). Anyone have any advice for making crazily bright/vibrant colors? I'm thinking of making a new base but leaving out the treated white mica, adding a little more magnesium myristate, and using less. The tit dioxide and zinc oxide definitely mute the colors a bit but I don't think I could formulate without them! Grr!

Otherwise, I'm interested in making concealers next (I made red-correcting green, but I want blue-correcting salmon) and I just keep tweaking my bases for coverage issues. Anyone with me on this?

If you're interested in a finishing powder, I've written a post on the topic on my blog here - http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2009/08/building-mineral-make-up-foundation.html. And since posting these recipes, I've written a ton about mineral make-up on my blog. I think I have something like 91 posts with various recipes for eye shadow, blush, foundation, bronzer, and so on. I'd put the recipes here, but there are far too many, so here's the link to the label "MMU" on my blog - http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/search/label/MMU.

I will warn you that making your own is completely and utterly addicting, so beware! One of the happiest days of my crafting life was when I disposed of everything in my make-up bag (except for my brushes and mascaras) in favour of all my own stuff! Another happy day was when I cleared my bathroom out of every commercial product except toothpaste and deodorant, but that's another post... Cheesy

Updating the topic to add that Swift has added a page of all her MMU links in one spot, which I love!
http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.ca/p/mineral-make-up.html

I've added a few things to my eyeshadow base for slip and oil-absorption since I've got super-oily, hooded lids. I've added some silk powder and magnesium myristate and have LOVELY results.

Loads of stuff goes into my foundation, lol! Allantoin, silk powder, magnesium myristate, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, serecite mica, oxides and boron nitride are in various amounts... wrote it down somewhere and need to find it again!
