So last year we started a new family tradition of making an "alternative" Christmas tree.  This year we decided to use the various sized hula hoops we had laying around, and made a couple more so we could have the correct range of sizes.  We strung them together with wire and there it is - for a trunk we used our goleden lion statue:



The whole thing is suspended from a hook in the ceiling, from which we hung a chandelier, which forms the top of the tree.



Then each hoop gets larger as you go down...



...until you get to the final large hoop on the bottom. 



I covered all the hoops with wide ribbon and tied most of the ornaments on to the hoops with ribbon as well.

That's amazing. I love it! What was last year's tree made of?

Last year the tree was a whole bunch of bare branches tied together.  I might be able to dig up a picture and post it here.
