I make gingerbread cookies every year but this year I decided to make my first real attempt at a gingerbread house.  The gingerbread and royal icing recipe are Martha Stewart's, which I use every year, it is really spicy and can be super hard so it worked well for the house.  The building pattern I created and then I just kinda winged it on the construction.  I am really happy with how it came out maybe next year I will try something more complicated.

This is the front of the house. The window panes are melted butterscotch hard candies.

This is the back. Both sidewalks were done with Necco wafers.

This one side of the house.

This is the other side of the house.  The peanut chimney is my favorite part.

Peanut chimney?! That is AWESOME. It makes it just like a real house.

I also love the peanut chimney! You did a great job! The butterscotch window panes were a nice touch too.   Grin
