Teaparty, as I was reading that, I thought about velcro too!

Too bad about the magnets though, hmph.

One question though...Is the "tooth" side of the velcro too sharp for a 1 year old to handle?  I've never made baby toys, so I wasn't sure.

I can't wait to see the pictures!!!

Well, in my 3 years as a nanny I have come up with a million gripes about velcro, which is why I wanted to use magnets to begin with. Within the limits of said experience, the only safety concern I have about the velcro is the very sharp and inflexible corners and edges when it comes in squares. I've kissed-better a few scrapes from this, but I think I can sew the trunk end on in a round patch and keep the stiches turned in. I'm hoping the edges won't rub through the felt...
