my words of wisdom: 1.life can be tragic...too bad get over it. 2.If you are having a bad day a handfull of tic tacs and a couple of motrim will fix you right up.
3.Don't buy non humane animal tested stuff I mean don't you hate it when people don't even "put the animals to sleep" first?

I love this! I'm about to make the butt dummy, and use it for motivation to lose weight! That is a good idea, whoever posted that. I too am alone here. I think I can handle it alone. Got a 600 ft roll of duck tape for 2.49 at Big lots. I thought bubble wrap might make good stuffing. Instead of saran wrap (good idea) I'm using a kitchen garbage bag.

I find halogen lamps people have put by the curb or at the collection center where people take their stuff for recycling, and have made some into bird feeders. (another topic I will post on later). Just found another one. This would make an excellent stand for a dress dummy, or a homemade mannequin!  People throw those out a lot. This is third identical one like this I've found. It is a 6 foot pole on a base, with a dish on top. It is in 3 sections that unscrew.

Once I made a man by stuffing clothes with newspaper. (another post, later)

I just now had an idea... put on panty hose, and duck tape your legs, to make legs! Or arms even. Sorry if someone already said that, I read this 2 or 3 weeeks ago. Yall were talking about making body parts.

I will try to make mine into a sculpture, and put up pix.

You could use the torso's for this also

He has a potted plant in his neck and a basket hanging from his hand.  Couldnt see him in the garbage.  His head is on a stake by the tomato plants.  Neighbors thought it was a message, LOL.

It only cost me 10$ for 2 rolls of 48 yard <a  style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=22&k=duct%20tape" onmouseover="window.status='duct tape'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">duct tape</a>. ...
WOW!!!  :oThat's expencive! I get those big rolls of duct tape for a buck at the dollar stores near me! Are there any dollar stores near you? If so you should check them out! If not, I could ship you some! Even with shipping cost it would be cheaper! There's also a <a  style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=22&k=store%20near%20me" onmouseover="window.status='store near me'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">store near me</a> that useually has a bag full of differant tapes for a 1$...If anyone wants I can pick some up for them and ship it. It shouldn't cost more than 2 or 3 $ to ship it depending on how much you would want! I just think it's rediculous to spend 5$ on a roll of tape! lol
Jae

I went to the dollar stores and all they had were cheap versions that only held about 2 metres of tape. Not very useful. So I went to Canadian Tire and got 2 rolls of actual Duct Tape. Comparing it to the cost of an actual dress form, I consider 10$ a very small expense. The newspaper I used to stuff it was free, the pole I found in my garage, and my dad gave me the paint.

i need a mannequin and havent been able to find an old beat up one anywhere.    ooooh my god!  I have been using my neighbor as a dummy for an art project...but i want my own measurements! this is the key!!!

this is freakin brilliant...i think i am going to cause myself an aneurism..... i am so excited.  i am in utter shock.  i should have thought of this like 2 weeks ago instead of pouting about not having a dummy!!!

Thank you my crafty lovlies!!!!!  alas, i am off to freddies and will not return until i have a dress form to call my very own!

Awesome!!!

I just got the coolest idea... Anyone watch Mythbusters? You know how they make a mold of Adam using that gelly stuff that imitates real skin? That would make the ultimate dress form. It would be so easy to pin into and it would take on your exact body shape... I need to get my hands on some of this stuff...
