I was inspired by this thread and I had to have a tape dummy. But I don't have any friends indulgent enough to help me out so I did a sort of half-dummy version to adjust skirts on (since that's all I wanted it for anyway). With some old pantyhose and some plastic wrap and two rolls of masking tape I wrapped myself up from mid-thigh to just above the waist (and it's important to do it in that order if you're working alone), then cut myself out, re-taped it, stuffed it, and papier-mached over it so it wouldn't be all tape-sticky.

And now I have a life-sized pinata version of my butt!! (which I hope will also serve me well for skirt fitting)

Can You Help me i have a question,
I made a duct tape dummy and i covered it with fabric but now everytime i use it the pins get sticky from going through all the layers of tape.

have you got any ideas on how to either prevent this or to help clean the pins without the rusting??

Thats a toughie... hmmm.... Rubbing alcool? When my mom used to buy us toys or whatnot that has sticky price labels on them, she would always take the sticky stuff off with rubbing alcool. It also won't rust your pins.

That's one of my concerns.  Maybe use a cheap duct tape with less stick?

I know that cleaning the pins with alcohol can help.  Goo-Gone works okay, too.

Is there candy inside?!?

No, just newspaper. But I've left the underside open, in case I ever do want to fill it up with candy.  Smiley

It only cost me 10$ for 2 rolls of 48 yard duct tape. ...
WOW!!!  :oThat's expencive! I get those big rolls of duct tape for a buck at the dollar stores near me! Are there any dollar stores near you? If so you should check them out! If not, I could ship you some! Even with shipping cost it would be cheaper! There's also a store near me that useually has a bag full of differant tapes for a 1$...If anyone wants I can pick some up for them and ship it. It shouldn't cost more than 2 or 3 $ to ship it depending on how much you would want! I just think it's rediculous to spend 5$ on a roll of tape! lol
