Someone gave us something like this a while ago and I couldn't figure out how to make it right; thank you sooo much!
Isn't it against Craftster rules to advocate drug addiction?
I'm definitely ad addict now.

OMG
these are amazing. i mean A. MAZ. ING.
i have been trying to figure out how to make homemade skor/heath bars for freaking EVER!!! and these are even better. 1st of all, you don't need a candy thermometer. (WHAT?!?!) i never can get it right with those things anyway... oh, and there is something about those saltines that just give it that extra something (that i didn't even realize) that a skor bar needs.

I love Fool's Toffee! I made some for the first time in YEARS this Christmas. Had it to kind of munch on all season long. Except we have a little nut grinder/chopper thing that we use to get the nuts all nice and small to sprinkle on. But I tell ya, this stuff is like the best stuff in the world.

Ok I know this is an older post but I had never heard of this recipe before. I sent hubs to the store to get the real butter and made some..WOW these are good!! Super easy and super sweet! I thought for sure I had screwed up the toffee part but it turned out fine..now if I can just leave it alone long enough for the chocolate to set!
Thank you, thank you and a thank for from my kids who are in for a sweet treat when they get home from school!

I'm so glad you both liked this! Yes, it is an old thread, but it seems to get resurrected every few months, and it always makes me happy to know someone else tried and liked it. :-)

Well, let me tell you more!
This is the recipe that made my daughter a cook. I am serious.
We tried this back in the day when you originally posted it, I thought it looked easy enough for my, then, 14 year old to try on her own.
She was very intimidated to make candy by herself, but she did. She did it by herself. We took this to the family Christmas dinner and everyone raved. From that day on, she was hooked and now she is always looking for something that she can bring to the family meals or to her friends at school or send to her boyfriend at college. She makes a variety of things now.
Thank you for posting this recipe because it gave my daughter the confidence to cook, something I didn't learn to do very well until I was much older.
