Cheesy yep..I'm now officially hooked into smocking embroidery. Friend of mine suggest I buy this fab magazine from Australia (Australian Smocking & embroidery)..so I bought one all the way from Aussie  Roll Eyes. and I absolutely love it.
This one, I made based on the design on the magazine. Too bad I dont have fabric with the same width as mentioned in the magazine  Undecided So I modified a bit..Cheesy. This dress I made as a gift to my friend's DD on her 4th birthday..Cheesy

and the detail:

Thanks for looking and HAPPY HOLIDAYS... Cheesy

Beautiful work! I remember wearing smocked dresses when I was little. I wish I knew how to do this for my girls. I was going to say it's such a vintage look. But, really it's a timeless look.

Oh, that looks lovely! I really like the pink and green. I have always wanted to make a smocked dress for my girl, but now she is seven I think it's too late and I'd have to wrestle her (or bribe her) to get to her to try it on! Not to her taste that's all...

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.
