Beware the power of my Sonic Seam Ripper!

I managed to whip up a bunch of these in the past two months, to put away as gifts.  I was able to use up about half of my yarn supply, and the additional yarn I bought was all from Dollar Tree, so they were pretty inexpensive.
This one my be my favorite.  I made two of them last night out of some Homespun, Moonlight Mohair, and Crochetable/knitable Ribbon

The rest of the pile made earlier in the month:  I made jewelry to complement most of the ones that are going to family so that their presents will be sort of themed.  I wish the colors came out better on this picture, but c'est la vie.

P.S.  If this post is on the wrong board, I apologize.  :-(

These are awesome Smiley I really like the blue one. I decided to do these as Christmas gifts too, but I made ribbons of fleece to braid with because yarn is so pricey when you just need to make one or two. I am glad you posted this though because I didn't know the dollar stores carried yarn. I hope your family loves their gifts!

True!  I made them for my mother and sisters in-law, my mom, and my students workers....  It started out that I just had so much yarn that I wanted to get rid of, but I really enjoyed making them... Then when we started our swap, I thought about all the HP knitted striped scarves out there, and thought it might be a funny play on those to make a different style "school" scarf.  Plus I had half of the yarn colors already to make yours... so I bought the remaining ones... which led to more color combinations for later scarves!  Also, I found a good use for the left over bits that aren't long enough for a scarf, or get trimmed off... I used them as tassels on bookmarks!  Yay recycling supplies!

I just kind of made it up as I went along, after seeing others on Craftster.  Try searching for a tute using the search feature.  :-)
