DIY Maternity Jeans with tutorial

Those are awesome! I made some for myself ... then went on a thrift store spree and ended up w/three more maternity jean capris w/various beaded/grosgrain trims.  They are super easy to make!

 ;)I feel your pain! My boys are 2 and 1 (yes, 12 months apart!) and I made a bunch of these kinds of pants out of my jeans that are now too tight on my Mama Belly. LOL I got some hot pink interlock on clearance and went to town on the waistbands.

This is so great.  I made myself 2 pairs of pants and a pair of shorts.  They look so great, better than anything storebought I have.  Kids are great, but they really do wreak havoc on a girl's body.  Thanks so much for the tutorial, it was really easy to follow, and had awesome results.  No pictures, hubby's always to busy to take pics of my projects on me.

I just ran across a web site that does something similar but she just does the front with knit covered elastic.

I am not pregnant and hopefully I am not planning to get pregnant for next ten years (my boyfriend says five is enough) but this is just made my day! Sounds weird but I have been thinking about maternity cloths and how ugly they are when they are store bought and it is too hard find cutest things and I have been thinking to be able to wear jeans.. So I will keep this tutorial and definetely try and ten (ok maybe five) years later I will show off them in here

Great job. My brain went out the window when I was pregnant so creating my own clothing was out and boy did I need them, by eight months I had a 52" waist. Hips I'm not to sure about, my 60" tape measure would not fit all the way around  Again great job.

That's a really cute fabric. I think it would be cute to make a shirt with the leftover fabric if you still have it.
