These are two rovings I did recently after looking at the Winter Spin Off this year. I happened to see a bowl of fiber on the What To Look For in dyed rovings and batts. I happened to have to roving naturally colored and thought it might be a nice way to use dyes. The first is not quite as loud as it is in the pic. I think the flash made it brighter. The second is called Peacock Feather. I used Jacquard and Wilton's. The wiltons broke in some of the rainbow colored one and made other intresting colors in the dye pot. I just randomly poured the dyes.

And an up close shot of the last one because it just had random places that looked like a peacock's feather

I love the muted look of the dye job due to the use of a natural brown wool.. I keep wanting to try this, but am so nervous it'll look weird.... I guess, this is evidence I should not worry, and just try!

Beautiful. I really like the softness of the colors.
