Tonight is our annual Bacon party.  I have been in bed with the flu so I threw together a couple of things: bacon vodka, bacon candy canes and these bacon fudge bites.  They were REALLY easy to make!

Here is close up of one piece.  You can see the bacon on the right side.

Thanks for looking!

I'm slightly horrified slightly curious, and slightly jealous.  I love bacon and I love chocolate, but together?!  How were they?  And a bacon party?  I think my bf teared up when I told him that...actually...I might have too.  Smiley

Bacon vodka?!  Please, I beg you, satisfy my curiosity!  And the fudge sounds pretty cool.  Bacon and chocolate really do work well together, as strange as it might sound.  Gotta love the combo of salty and sweet.  Mmmm.

OMG! The only way this could be better is if the fudge was encased in a croissant or deep fried. Cheesy

our 7 year old nephew came up with the concept one day of a "bacon cake", which my husband promptly made.
it turned out to be very spicy and chocolatey-  like a mole.
it was delicious.
i wanted to ask , whether you put in savory spices at all.
looks awesome.

Yum!

Bacon and Chocolate do work well together. Vogse's chocolates makes something called "Mo's Bacon Bar" and it is really good.

I'm curious...what on earth do you mix with bacon vodka?

These turned out awesome!  The salt on top was the best touch!  I found the recipe here: http://www.theanticraft.com/archive/beltane08/ohcanada.htm They were SUPER easy to make.

A bacon fudge filled deep fried croissant would probably stop my heart from beating! But damn that sounds good and I have a turkey deep fryer.  Evil thoughts are a bubbling.

i wanted to ask , whether you put in savory spices at all.
This was the first run of the recipe so no.  But I embrace experimentation! I am thinking a spicy Mexican chocolate version.  I already love spicy chocolate, plus bacon. Yikes! I might explode!

Bacon vodka?!  Please, I beg you, satisfy my curiosity!

I infused a pound of bacon into about a liter plus of Grey Goose vodka.  It is a gross looking process but the final product rocks!  At first it tastes like vodka but once the liquid has left your palette it has "I just ate a piece of bacon" finish.  Crazy tasty!

I'm curious...what on earth do you mix with bacon vodka?

Most people did shots to fully embrace the experience.  But I also made bloody mary mix to go with it.  I am tinkering with some martini ideas, a black pepper bacon martini, caramel bacon martini, or just a chocolate bacon martini.  The possibilities are endless!

I am glad ya'll love bacon!  I also made these maple bacon candy canes. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=283635.0 The post also talks a bit more about the bacon party.  Got to love bacon because it is the glitter of meat!
