I'm addicted to DDR. I need a 12-step program.

Is there a photo gallery or something with pictures of stitches so that I can compare some stitching I'm unfamiliar with to it? I tried an image search online, but got mostly diagrams (and pictures of stitched up skin, which made me cringe in sympathy!). I've searched on this board, too. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search words or something, but I'd appreciate it if anyone knows of a source like this if you'd post it here - thanks! Cheesy

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."

I found a book called The Embroidery Stitch Bible that was very useful.  I actually checked it out from my local library.

Also, Needlecrafter has a stitch dictionary and the magnifying glass to the left of some of the stitch names show pictures. Here: http://www.needlecrafter.com/Stitches/stitches.html?PHPSESSID=8c50c9b85c71063374dbe3c63d2fedc9

I hope that helps!

A fellow Craftster has a great website with wonderful video tutorials for several stitches here: http://www.needlenthread.com/2006/10/video-library-of-hand-embroidery.html

Needlecrafter has an extensive stitch dictionary online with descriptions and pictures:  http://www.needlecrafter.com/Stitches/stitches.html

And Pintangle.com had a stitch along of sorts last year and there are plans for another this year I believe.  The archives for most of the stitches used are still there I believe:  http://stitchinfingers.ning.com/group/TAST

I hope that helps!
