Cup o Noodles it is, crafting costs too much!

So we drew names for our Christmas gifts this year and I drew my SIL. I know that she loves to craft and her and I have very similar tastes, but she just doesn't have any time with 5 kids, 3 under 3 and going to nursing school. I wanted to pamper her with crafted stuff that she would love to do on her own, but doesn't. I made these place mats using the crazy shortcut quilting method. Since she has such a large family four wouldn't cut it, so I had to make 8. I made a blanket using the same method and it only took me a couple of hours, this took me weeks. I was taunted by having to do so many. Well anyway on to the photos:

Here are the fronts of them, I love that they are all different.

Here are the backs. I love this apple print.

And a close up of one of the fronts.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Wow, nice job!  The binding looks nice and neat as do the corners and I just love that apple print on the back!

Making quilted place mats is now definitely on my list of things to do in 2009,

I think your SIL is going to absolutely love them!

I like those.  I keep trying to do a crazy quilt pattern, but mine never turns out quite right.  Those are very nice though and what a thoughtful gift!
