So I made scoodies for my girls! I made my own pattern which isn't hard. I have oooodles of fabric but, I had my husband run to walmart to buy a yard of black fleece so I can line them. They took about 20 minutes each and they are reversible with no seams showing. But, why have plain black when you can have the fun prints showing?

A houndstooth with a flower and some black lace. It looks a little Lolita to me!

And here is the floral one with a pink bow!

I like the Loli one. The only problem with handmade gifts for the kids for Christmas, is that there's no surprises. Undecided
Great job, Kasey.
I'm curious. Is the center of the flower the piece of the covered button set that's leftover after using the shank end for doll making? Because I've been wondering what to do with all of those, instead of throwing them out.
I guess you could even sew a piece of fabric on it to change the color, and then sew it to the flower. I'm assuming it's just glued here, right?

It is a half ball button cover used to make the jointing in the poppet legs! Cheesy I actually just took apart a couple different silk flowers and layered them and poked the assembled button through the holes in the flowers and sewed the shank to a safety pin so that I can remove it for washing. I made some baby headbands with the same concept and some of the button covers I did in fact cover with fabric, but, I also like the look of them plain. I also forgot to add in the post to PLEASE EXCUSE MY UNMADE BED!! LOL!! They are still going to be Christmas gifts... I had Delayni try on Reagans and Reagan try on Delayni's so the models aren't wearing the ones they are getting..... I brought them in at seperate times and did the, "shhhhhhh, it's our secret..." thing. They were each jealous because they wanted one too Cheesy

I would if I ran into any problems, but, you will see that it is uber easy!! I like that these were a quick make. In under an hour I was able to make two and this was my first time!!

They are so cute MK.

Love the fabric you used.  Grin

I just made a scoodie too. But it was for a swap so I haven't posted it yet. Soon, I shipped it off to the birthday girl a few days ago.

They're both beautiful. I did mine so plain. I never thought to embellish it. I think I might have to go add something to it.

prunes28. Vegbee has a nice tute on her blog. It's the one that I used for mine. It's very easy. http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/09/scoodie.html

It's not what you know, but what you do with what you know that is important.

Brilliant! My kids are actually watching me sew, so that wouldn't work for me. Undecided

How do I make my own pattern?  Any hints.  I have a granddaughter
I could make one for and embroider something on it with my embroidery
machine.

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.
