Happy Fiber Friday everybody!
I just got the news that my application was accepted and I'll be at my first ever
craft show in June 2009! So excited, so much to plan and spin.
And spinning I did, I've done a lot of plying lately.
Murano - 123 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Belle - 123 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Belle II (slightly darker) - 97 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Guess - 292 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Berry Cheesecake - 257 yards (2 skeins) handdyed Falkand wool
Enchanted - 228 yards (2skeins), one ply is a Merino, bamboo, soysilk blend the other Falkland wool, all handdyed
and a few singles for a change
Tranquil - 237 yards (2 skeins) handdyed Falkland wool
Chaos - 168 yards, handcarded handdyed Romney and Cotswold wool, natural brown Romney lambs wool, silk, linen, suri alpaca and sparkle all striped with Lurex thread
Perhaps - 89 yards, handcarded Falkland, Gotland lamb, Cotswold lamb and Merino wool and a bit of sparkle.
Hope you all found some spinning time in amongst the Xmas preparations

Stunning, caedara.
I'm busy knitting away - no yarns to speak of this week. Started some of Carol Lee's hand dyed (russets & browns) on a Country Craftsman a spinning student of mine left with me because she was having trouble with it. Let her borrow my Traveller in exchange.
A couple hats, scarf, calorimetry and just started a BSJ

Daniella I just LOVE Chaos!!!! All are beautiful, but that's my fave!! I have to spin my willy nilly batts now!! I carded up your meadow batts.. I'll PM you on etsy..
I've been crazy these past few weeks with stuff going on here.. DH getting laid off and trying to find a job and my spinning/carding has slipped into my real jobs #2 and 3 rather than just fun "hobby" jobs.. So here's some of the stuff I've been working on
Corespun Mohair locks
Soft spun singles from a couple crazy batts I carded
Corespun LOOP batt.. I spun in the lace trim she included, as well as 36 swarvowski crystals on a silver filament thread that was wrapping around
BFL/Seacell squooshy singles
Corespun assorted fibers and sparkles
Merino/tencel singles
Tencel and angelina
Assorted fibers from some of HollyEQQ's batty babes bags, also with pieces of a cut up silk scarf
Cotswold lamb locks, spun full with little drafting or picking
Bamboo, wrapped with red thread and 24 mini jingle bells
Corespun assorted fibers
SnowQueen, corespun with silk nubs, sequins, pom poms and dangly ornaments
OH Christmas Tree, corepsun wool with embellishment and dangly ornaments
Corespun assorted fibers
Corespun assorted fibers
Corespun assorted fibers
Twilight, romney lamb locks and sparkle I carded
YAY for the holidays!! I hope everyone has a good one!!

gosh, I only have one again this week.... It's been a crazy week, not enough time to spin. And not a chance to spin in the next few weeks either... but come january... watch out LOL!
"Ode to the original Settlers" ~134 yrd (named this for 2 reasons. 1) I spun up about 1/2 of it by candle light in a power outage and 2) because its natural and coffee dyed, which the sttlers may have used to dye things I suppose)
Jazzturtle, Tencel and angelina looks like gold silver and copper, Are you sure Rumplestiltskin wasn't visiting?
I also love your Corespun Mohair locks.
caedara, your yarns are yummy.

I've been a big fan of Fiber Friday for ages, and now I'm finally making my debut appearance. My first ever yarn, spun from undyed domestic wool on a drop spindle from laminathegreat (I got her awesome "learn to spin" kit), I am not even bothering to show. Suffice it to say that it is called "Pigeon Droppings".
This next one I started at the Israspin workshop held by Ravelry's lovely MasadaSpindle. It refuses to have a good picture taken (as does the next one) but it's not that attractive anyway so whatever:
"n00b-berry" - undyed Aussie merino, kool-aid dyed NZ merino and a bit of the domestic wool from before, about 84g, 58m
"Noro Who?" - scrap fiber, scrap yarn, and some hubris carded by me on dog flickers, 48g, 16m
as yet unnamed, may well be plied with something else, spun from silk hankies received in a swap (so much fun to spin ZOMG), 17g, 40m
And to complete the learning curve so far, "Morning Star", from domestic wool roving from laminathegreat ("Morgan" colorway), 4oz, 72m. I was surprised with how soft it is.
Next week's challenge will be to make some even singles. In any case, I've caught the spinning bug hard.
Happy Fiber Friday!

Oh Daniela I just love them all! May I ask how you spin your 2-plies? From handpainted roving or patchwork? They are just beautiful!!!
Ester I just love all the corespins (of course!)
Here are mine for the week, not many but it's been kinda busy lately.
Sapphire Tower, Baby Camel and Silk blend dyed by Exclusively Linda Lee, Navajo Plied
Starlight Starbright and Winder Wonderland batts from Jazzturtle, Corespun, Self-Striping. I'm planning to knit a scarf with it and use the embellishment kit I also bought from her as the fringe!
My own mini batts from the Ravelry Spin-a-Long I hosted! It was so fun to see how all these creative spinners decided to use the same fibers differently! I striped mine and Navajo plied it!!!
Another Navajo Ply (are you seeing a trend for the week? lol) just playing around with a couple colors of semi-solid merino I dyed up. Let's call this one Jazzy Lemon-Lime
"I'm a Barbie Girl" 2 'Crash Test Dummies' 2-plied from Copperpot Woolies
A supercoiled yarn from another 'Crash Test Dummy' in the WILD SIBERIAN IRIS colorway.
An a FO from my "All Spun Up Art Yarn" from last week! A quick scarf knit on size 35 needles!

Thanks everybody!
Esther you've outdone yourself this week. You already know I like the Tencel and Loop yarns and all the corespuns are pretty, but the first one is absolutely gorgeous. Shiny locks and blue green, sigh.
Belladune is that going to be you new years resolution: Spin more yarn!?
Spinning by candle light sounds so romantic... Even though the reason wasn't.
yberry - Welcome! I like the silk hankies one best. I don't think I would ply it with anything though. It's pretty as it is.
Jenna - I spin my plied yarns from handpainted roving, patchwork or from batts, depending what look I'm after. The ones from this week are all from handpainted roving (top to be precise) though.
Love your coiled yarn. Super coils just seem to 'eat' yardage.
Size 35 needles?! How long did it take you to knit the scarf with them?
