I love Buckeyes! I just made 17 dozen of them on Friday!

My recipe also has paraffin in the chocolate. I love that with the right margarine and chocolate chips, these are also vegan! Normally I made 3-4 kinds of candy at Christmas, but the buckeyes seem to be the crowd favorite, so this year I did a huge batch.

Oh!, and the recipe that we have always used has rice crispies in it! I was looking online for something similar, and it seems like no one else puts rice crispies in their's!

Blasphemy!

LifeislikeanEwok, you just solved a mystery for me. My Dad's neighbor always sent buckeyes over when I was a kid, but they had something crispy in them...I was racking my braining trying to figure out what it was! It has to be Rice Crispies!

I made these yesterday using your recipes and crunchy peanut butter. Even though there are chocolate issues they still taste great.

These are such cute little things! Usually we just make bars with a similar recipe. They're very cute, fit the name.

Peanut butter, mmmm...

Specifically, Ghiradelli (sp?) milk chocolate chips - the first batch: melted in the microwave (not so workable)
second batch: double boiler melted and much easier to work with Smiley

I got upstairs after printing the recipe off and walked up to my dad and asked if I could make dessert. He asked me what it was and I said bulls eyes. xD I got a funny look. but then he said buckeyes and we all got a laugh out of it.

Then...
I accidentally increased the recipe by 50%, I couldn't get them into blobs so they are round thing with jagged edges, and the cookie sheet I put them in fit in the fridge but not in the freezer so I left them there over night. =[

Let's just hope nothing goes wrong with the chocolate. O.O
