I don't have very good vision, so when I'm sewing on my machine I have to stay pretty close to my work. My head gets closer and closer to the machine, until, inevitably, the little hook, that pulls the tread up and down I'm not sure what it is called, pops up and hits me right in the forhead. I have never finished a project that it didn't smack me at least once.

LOL! I shouldn't laugh at you, but I have done the same thing SO MANY TIMES!!  Cheesy

I actually have relatively good close vision, but there's just something about that shiny needle moving so fast...

I find myself rethreading the needle mid-project

because of this i absentmindedly leave my foot on the pedal.

then i put my foot down, needle freaks, hands go all silly and too close to the needle and the hook smacks me in the face...

i often come out wiht a rather nice bruise right at that bit at the edge of your eyebrow(like the top of your eyesocket)  Roll Eyes

i dont have a hook thing, but i get my thumb slammed under the presser foot quite a bit (not where the needle is, there is a little knob that sticks out on mine, and it hits me)

i bruised it so bad once that i couldnt pick anything up for a week

i hope your wounds heal quickly Smiley
