My grandma gave me an old quilt last summer, she said it was the first one she ever made.  It was in pretty bad shape, but I found a couple of good patches, cut them out, trimmed off the binding of the quilt to use for piping around the edges of the pillow and stitched it up.  Now I'm giving it back to her for Christmas in pillow form.

I meant to give it to her last year, but was trying to do it all by hand and didn't make it in time for Christmas. This year I got out the sewing machine and had it done in 10 mins -- ahh technology.

What a great way to save and use your grandma's quilt. You've made a great treasure. Good job! and such cute fabric too!

What a fantastic job with what you had and what an incredible heirloom\piece of history.  A wonderful gift.
