I made these for practice before making the ones to give away.  And I found it amusing to put some "sprinkles" in the dish.  I plan on taking them to class tomorrow, I am in a Veterinary Tech. program they will get a kick out of it.

And I cant forget Sad Larry the  mouse.  I don't think I can let Larry be eaten now, he's just so sad.

Those look delicious and very cute, but Larry just brightened my (soon-to-be-all-nighter-for-a-stupid-exam) night. Thank you for posting Larry  Smiley Was he intentional or a bit of a mishap?

At the risk of being called out for speaking LOLcat, sad Larry is sad! Adorable, though.

Oh that is just hilarious.  The little sprinkles really add that extra touch.  And sad larry, ha ha!  He really does look like a said little mouse.  Hee hee!

Larry was an Ops, he just didn;t turn out right with the ears.  Then I tried the chocolatechip eyes and well, you can see what happened there.  Sad Larry.

First of all, your mice look wonderful and adorable! Secondly, bwahaha! Sad Larry looks just like this one mouse that my fat, nonathletic cat caught once. He didn't hurt it and let it go, but it just sat there looking like Sad Larry, eventually we had to pick him up and carry him off so none of the other cats would find him, he was so cute/stupid.

I am glad everyone is finding Larry as amusing as I did.  the mice where a huge hit in class, everyone loved the mouse sprinkles, and now they want to make them also.

No one ate Larry, they just couldn't do it.

That has to be the most adorable thing ever! Poor Larry. I'd think I would eat him just to put him out of his misery...

The tails are just the stems of the cherries that make up the body.  I used a chop stick and dipped it in the melted chocolate to dot on the eyes.

I am afraid to give Sad Larry kisses he might get bitten by accident Wink

Once I figured it out no.  My method is dip the cherry hold on the kiss till it stays, dip the next cherry and hold on the kiss.  Then go back to the first mouse and add the ears.  Otherwise you have to sit there and really hold them forever, or um, get a Larry.

What kind of chocolate did you use to dip the cherries? My mom and I are planning a Christmas baking day and I think I might have to make some.. they are just so adorable.

I used almond bark in a double boiler.

Cute!
I used melted chocolate chips, and they work just fine, but I think I like pink eyes a little more than chocolate eyes: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=69486.0

I'm still highly amused by this Smiley

I vote you use this term for all your baking botches from now on.

So I know I'm quite late posting on this thread, but once I saw Larry I couldn't resist! I literally just cried laughing.
Those are great! I'll have to make some, if for no other reason than to show them off to my friends.

I make mice every year around holiday time as well. Have been for about 7 years now. They're cute and fun.   Smiley

I make them without nuts because of allergies, but they are still just as yummy.

I've made these adorables several times but mounted them on a chocolate covered graham square.  I even made them for the bake sale in our retirement park & sold them all.
