Bacon!! Fleece bacon scarf.

This was probably the easiest thing that I have ever made.  No straight lines!!  I purchased the fleece from joann's and I totally lucked out and found all remnant pieces.  It cost less then $3.00 to make!!! 

I made this for my husband for Christmas because he would probably marry bacon if he could!! 

(and of course, the baby checking stuff out!!)

Mmmm bacon.  It is the glitter of meat.  I am an art student and 1/3 of my finals involve bacon and or meat.  Hurray for bacon wrapped winters!

So, do you mind my asking: How did you join the various pieces of fleece together? Did you just butt the edges together and zig-zag while catching a little of each fabric, or did you layer one piece on top of another and then topstich?

Did you make a tube of fleece (it kind of looks like there are two layers of fabric at all times- I can't quite make it out) Congrats on getting it all in remnants!

Sorry to bug you with so many questions...your project is fascinating and compelling, and I think it's an irresistible accessory.

No worries about the questions!  I tried responding a couple of minutes ago and DH almost walked over by me to see what I was typing and to see 'what i was going to make next...'

I layered the cream colored fleece on top of the reddish piece and top stitched it.  I almost left it as is, but I didn't like the randomness of the red stitches on the reverse side so I cut another piece of the reddish fleece and sewed the two 'right sides' together except for a hole big enough to turn.  turn and then stitched the small hole together.

I am thinking about making another one for my brother since it was just so quick and easy and I still have enough fabric. (He is vegetarian, so my sick humor will definitely shine through with that one!!  Also thinking about making one for a vegan friend but that may be taking it a bit too far!)

I love this! I'm vegetarian but eat a piece of bacon occasionally...but then I remember why I don't eat meat (the grease gets to me). I'd love a bacon scarf though. My fiance would appreciate a bacon scarf. He'd probably ask me to make him one out of real bacon though lol.

Awesome! I should make these for my nephews and brother. They also love the bacon. My brother makes a dish that I find totally disgusting--he stuffs thick pork chops with bacon, cheddar cheese, and cornbread stuffing. I really don't think you should stuff one pork product with another product!

Are you and hubby fans of Jim Gaffigan? He loves the bacon lol. Last time he had a pre-sale for his comedy show the password was 'bacon'!
