Lavender Brown Sugar Scrubs (my first!)

I've made a salt scrub once before but these are my first sugar scrubs. Made a test batch and it came out luxurious so I made a dozen jars of this stuff to give out for x-mas presents. I opted to hand write the labels for a more personal touch, using a sharpie and covering with packaging tape before i cut them out and stuck them on. seems to keep them nice and waterproof (so far!)

I got the recipe somewhere on the web and just tweaked it slightly. For each 8 oz jar i used:

1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar in the raw (course for exfoliating!)
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil
1/4 cup olive oil (you could use almond oil as well)
5-6 drops of lavender essential oil.

all very easy ingredients to find. all you have to do is mix it up in a big bowl and scoop it into the jars. smells heavenly.

Hmmm.... I think it would be too late to order these now! but I just had an idea (one that my husband will love) I could use baby food jars as my container! (he'll be glad to finally get them out of the house!). I have two different sizes, and could put a 'spatula' with them so they can be used... That could work! And cheap too!

Covering the labels with packing tape to laminate them is a great idea!  Did you use more tape to affix them to the jars, then?

Canto, I had sheets of 5 labels on each that were the right size. i wrote out what i wanted on each sticker then covered the whole page with two pieces of packaging tape. then i had to cut the labels out (b/c i couldn't peel them) and after i cut them the back came off so labels just stuck right on to the jar, no need to tape them on. does that make sense?
