Anyone know of a place I can find padding compound (the glue for making notepads) in the Vancouver area?   Or do I have to order online and wait?

they calling opus and loomis (loomis is called something else now, but if you google, it still comes up). ruby dog's had it, but it's closed now. i know opus on granville island carries bookbinding supplies, so they might have the compound too.

Thanks for the tip CraftyDame, seemed promising but no luck.   So... still on the hunt.

aw crap. i'm really surprised that opus didn't have it! they had a whole book display the last time i made the trek to granville island (admittedly ages ago!).

did you try asking them for suggestions? they've been really awesome for me in the past, to the point of even writing down the name and number of a company on annacis island that carries silicone when i was looking for it. (okay, so i lost it.... but i know i'll find it again! Wink) i've found most of the staff at deserres/loomis to be pretty useless, but opus is usually good.

i really can't think of anywhere else that might have it. are there any places on main that might carry it? try calling urban source? it's random, but you never know!

I was surprised too - their website has lots of book binding stuff.   The person I spoke with tried to be helpful but her best suggestions were to try Michaels or look online.  (uh, thanks?)    In the meantime, I'm using plain ol Elmer's school glue which is okay but not quite as professional.     I'll probably just have to order it online.

you could try contacting leanne from ruby dogs. i know she did carry it when ruby dogs was open, and she does have an online store... her shipping's a little out there, but maybe she'd let you pick it up?
