I am quite impressed by your son's quilt making skills.  Would that I could do as well with my last minute projects.

So my DD is having a bday party this weekend and wanted some little prizes to give out for games. I made the dolls pretty much like dotee dolls but some are bigger and I left off the tails and hangers for times sake.  I made 24 little dolls total using only items from my stash. I used up:
12 assorted scraps of felt
16 assorted scraps of fabric
1/2 bag of stuffing
finished off 2 partial skiens of fibers and used a lot of various other fiber scraps
2 mini doll hats
18 buttons.

My Destash Projects to date:
1. made 10 felt ornament stars
2. made 14 owl pincushions (January theme)
3. Made 72 french berets for girl scouts
4. Made 5 luv monsters (February theme-hearts: each one has a heart on its backside )
5. Altar Cloth
6. 24 mini dolls

I have destashed a total of 19 yards of fabric and I have another 5 yards of fabric cut and ready to go for projects (I am not counting it used until it is sewn up).

Unfortunately I have bought 12 yards of fabric to add to my stash. Darn Remnant bins! So really I have only used 7 yards of fabric Sad I should be able to get some more of my stash used up within the next 2 weeks before Sew Expo! I don't know if I want to buy any fabric now. I have so many projects I want to do, now that I can see all of my fabric I can plan projects easier. If I do buy any fabric it will be in FQ's to make scrappy quilts (my new addiction). I really want to spend my money on Notions, they are so much more fun. I also need to save money to buy quilt batting and backing fabrics. I need to get back to the sewing now.

Hey, you're still heading in the right direction - less stash not more. Smiley

I had another Stash fail this week.  I felt compelled to go to this weird discount/overstock store that almost never has anything I want.  Lo and behold, I found a stack of gallery-wrapped 18x24 inch primed canvases for $3.75 each!!  These things run $12-15 a piece at Hobby Lobby, so of course, I bought the whole stack.  In theory, I could use up some of my obscene amount of paint on these huge canvases, so I can hopefully reduce stash in the long run.  3 cards suitable for men

individually

A farewell card for work college

Every thing was in my stash.  I didn't have to buy a thing for these cards.

Those cards are really well done. I rather like the 'manly' ones. They have a masculine edge without resorting to stereotypes which is cool.

Here's a shot or two of my progress for February.  Rather unimpressive, but still progress, and every little bit counts.

Matchbook notepads for valentines day:

I ended up making a lot more than pictured here, about 50 all told.  Way more than I had people to give to, but they were addictive and used up lots of scraps.
Two Calorimetries:

These turned out really big.  You'd think after the first was large I'd correct it for the second one, but that didn't happen.  They're still functional, the scale's just a little off...
I'm making a pair of mittens to go with the brown/blue calorimetry, but seem to be suffering from second mitten syndrome.  This is a lot like second sock syndrome, but by the time I get over it mitten weather will have given way to spring.
