I managed to make a Grocery Bag Holder for my aunt.... (this tutorial - http://www.planetshoup.com/easy/sew/baghold.shtml) I started making a bookcover out of the same fabric (using this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=236243.0)  I found that the interfacing was too much to sew through without doing a weird pucker - so the next one i'll trip the interfacing down a little.   Grin

Yay for destashing!

just finished some major de-stashing this weekend:

a lined weekender bag (first try on this with no pattern), 3 skirts, a backpack, and I started a zippered pouch. Plus some swap Items that DiscoQueenHigness will be getting soon.

I finally found my zipper foot! I am soo happy!! It makes life so much easier.

I made some good progress on my quilt that I plan to get finished for January.  I have my top finished and I am just about to start quilting.  Now I just have figure out what to do with all these small peices of fabric that I have left over from this quilt.

Last night I started pulling fabric from my stash for the next quilt.  I think I will be able to get away without needing to buy any new fabric.  I may need to still buy the fabric for the back.

I made a bit of progress deStashing in my first week.
I managed to clear out the dumping ground in the basement to use as a craft area.  I'm too embarrassed to show before pictures, but since I'm rather proud of this accomplishment I'll give the "after" shots.

Then Katiebread came up to help me break the new space in.  We made books.  I'll let he post hers if she wishes, but we each did a coptic binding, and one using this tutorial: http://curiouslycrafty.wordpress.com/tutorials/

I also managed to knit my way through another ball of yarn for my mother's scarf, and made a random beanie (pattern from the Happy Hooker)

So the deStashing totals this week are 2 large scraps of fabric, 4 scraps of bookboard, 5 sheets of scrapbooking paper, 1 skein of Tweedle-dee, and a partial skein of Woolease.  Oh, and a large plastic garbage bag full of junk from the basement (not crafting, but it got the stuff out!)

Wow, Gaudiknight! Would you like to come straighten out my stash area? Please? Nice work! The books and beanie are terrific, too!

gaudiknight is a genius bookbinder!  She provided everything but the pages, and helped with every step.  Thanks gaudiknight!  Grin

I was able to destash a little bit of yarn last week.  I made scarves for the kids I babysit for(3yo girl and 5yo boy).  Sydney got a pink and purple rapunzel scarf and her older brother got a red knit scarf.  Sydney is my adorable model for both because Austin was at school.

Ooh. Gaudiknight, I'm jealous at the size of your craft area! Looks nicely organized. I'm going to take pictures of my major tidy too!

Love those books! Bookbinding was always something I wanted to try... and one of the few things I still haven't!

And imafundork - your scarves AND your model are very cute.
