I've always wanted one of these, so I decided that I needed to teach myself how to knit so that I could have one.  Not too shabby for a first project, if I do say so myself.   Smiley

Great!!! It is awesome...I am currently working on one of my own for my teenage daughter. LOL I could not afford the Knit Punk book so I was gonna just make a cap and add the "mohawk".

It is going to be one of her xmas gifts.

That's exactly what I did.  Smiley  I also made the cap out of acrylic and the mohawk out of wool so that I could felt the mohawk without felting the hat.

I love it!

But I am doing one and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to put the mohawk fringe on.  I can do fringe on the edge of something but in the middle?  lol  I feel like it's probably really simple and I'm missing it.

You just loop the yarn in half, pull it through a stitch in the hat with a crochet hook, then pull the two cut ends through the loop the folded end makes and pull tight - just like making a tassel.
