I got this idea from a fellow craftster on recycling board and gave it a try using my fabric scrap stash. I was thinking of giving it to a little girl for christmas but think it looks too mature. Don't all little girls like pink? Undecided  Maybe I'll fill it with hair goodies and a brush for someone on my tween list.

Totally stealing this idea for a stocking stuff for my daughter for Christmas.  (She's 18months.... but loves carrying anything around in buckets/bags/purses/etc.)

I think I'm slow too. Oatmeal is porridge, right? I don't understand the connection. Somebody explain for the ignorant girl in New Zealand, please Smiley

ok i'm posting a before picture so those on other side of the pond can see the original container. I'm sure this will work for any cylinder container though.

There's a picture about half way down of the smiling quaker guy on the box.

From there I just made two small holes for the cording on the side then covered everything with fabric and extra wide ribbon. Thread cording thru holes and voila instant purse.
It opens by taking the top off which is now on the side.
Hope this helped but probably just confused everyone even more!  Embarrassed

That's a great idea. I love it...and I also love the colors. Blue/turquoise is one of my favorites.

Jealous greetings from Germany :-D
