Hey superhooker, is there much for hubby and Griffin to do while us ladies are doing the crafty stuff?  He's thinking he might want to come too. Smiley  Honestly, I think he wants to see proof that the crafty girls are really girls - you can be anyone on the 'net, you know. Cheesy

What do they like to do, Sevs?  There's a giant Barnes and Noble, if they like books...a video game store next to that...there's a bowling alley about 1-2 miles away (I can look up an address if you'd like).  Theres a pool hall on Woodward, but I think you have to be 21 to go in.  Let me know what they'd like to do, and I'll find out!!

Oh, there's also the Detroit zoo, right down the street.

My brain is drawing a blank.  I'd ask brandon what "guy" stuff there is to do, but he just left to go to Lansing for the day.

Honestly, I don't know what they would want to do to keep themselves busy!  Maybe I can convince them to stay home.lol

I would love to come and meet up with you guys! I have a crazy busy schedule, but I'm going to see what kind of shuffling I can do. I haven't been to Royal Oak in like 10 years, we used to go down to the Main Art Theater and Noir Leather and visit all the little shops, but they were closing everything up last time I was there. Glad to hear things have gotten better.

Main Art and Noir are still there!  Noir has moved to a new location, though, they are on 4th now, not on Main.

We're also talking about going to the "paint your own pottery" place  http://www.creativeartsstudios.com/...and you can do glass fusing or beading there too, not just painting pottery.  We were also thinking about a tea tasting (free...working this out!) at GoldFish Tea  http://www.goldfishtea.com/retailstore.asp , and I totally just talked to the employees at Gayle's Chocolates  http://www.gayleschocolates.com/index.php  and they said that we could come on in!  They make homemade (like from actual chocolate, not powder or syrup) hot cocoa, and check out the website to see the fantastic stuff they do with chocolate!  That place is like Willy Wonka's factory!  The lady also said I could "taste test" whatever I wanted from the bins of candies...you can't argue with that kind of salesmanship....

ah! gayle's <3. my boyfriend used to work there! maybe he'll have some stories for us?

Ok everybody, I've made a couple of arrangements for us.  The pottery place said that for a group we really should have a reservation, so I made one for us.  The morning was all booked up, so I got the 3:30-5:30 spot.  They said that if 15 of us show up, we'd all get 10% off on pottery, and 5% of on beading, mosaics, and glass.  If 25 of us show up, then we get 15% off pottery, and 10% off the other stuff.

I made a reservation at the tea house too.  The tea tasting will be 2 bucks per person, for whoever wants to do it.  Brandon says it is really fun!  We've got a spot at 1pm for that.

I think that is all I need to reserve, though, unless you guys all want to go someplace specific for lunch.

Oh, and Sevs, I forgot to mention, for your guys...we've also got a good cheap movie theatre.  On Saturdays all the shows are $2.50.  (on tuesday, they're all $1.00!!!)  They generally have some good stuff showing...here's a link:
