Hi all!

I haven't posted anything here in such a long time that I thought I'd start by seeing what's new locally! And, lookee here!

I live in the Hills of Farmington and would love to meet up with some crafty neighbors this spring. Royal Oak and Ferndale are my favorite haunts. Was just in Royal Oak last night for the holiday "thingy."

Royal Oak is also home to the Lady Bug Shoppe for the cross stitchers among us.

I'll keep checking here for more news!

Ah ha!  That's the name of the cross stitch store!  I knew it was there...just off Washington (I think...bad at street names yet!)  down the street from Ewe-nique Knits.

Ooooh, this is going to be a great group!  Even my hubby is getting excited...he keeps thinking of places we should go.
He'll be laid off after christmas, and we are going to do some wandering around town to find all the cool new places.  Royal Oak is really booming, despite this horrible economy...and lots of new shops and restaurants are opening.

Cool!  I remember about 5 years ago, it seemed like everything was closing up.  It's nice to know that some things are getting better.  Smiley

Hey all! I'm totally in- I'm a knitter (and general dabbler) from Southfield- 13 mile and Southfield rd.

And my friend Christine will probably be up for it too (she's a knitter and a craftster as well, but a total lurker, I can't get her to POST anything!  Tongue )

Anywho, don't feel bad about not knowing street names and such Superhooker, I've lived here (14 and Evergreen) almost my entire life and I swear I drive down the road with BLINDERS on- I mean, there's a cross stitch place in RO?? Holy cow, I've never SEEN that before, and I'm there all the time! What a dork I am... Oh- and where's this so-called fabric store on Main?  Huh  There used to be one on 4th but I couldn't even tell you if it closed last year or 7 years ago.... lol

http://www.habermanfabrics.com/   Smiley   Like I said, kind of pricey, but they have stuff Joann's doesn't carry (anymore. They did have wool suitings when I worked there 14 years ago, but said they don't carry ANY last time I was there).  And I've heard they carry oilcloth, the stuff you can use to make lunchbags, and cloth chalkboards.

I had fun at the Frankenmuth meetup, I would be in for Royal Oak. It's much closer too.
