Okay, I live in Marquette and know many crafty punky ladies and resourceful mamas here in real life, I am wondering who are we missing?
If you are a Yooper crafter/maker/artist, please respond and introduce yourself!

my name is Mavis and I am an artist, seamstress, dreamstress, drummer, and a work at home mama. I create natural fiber clothing and re-sourced housewares, among other things.

Who and where are ya?

I'm Jen, 20, from Menominee/Houghton (MTU student, though taking this year off).  Expecting a baby this spring!

I know there have to be more of us, at least I hope so. My name is Linny and I'm from the Hougton area.

I quilt, do all sorts of paper crafts, and make bags and other sewn things.

Looking for postcards from anywhere to use for RSVP cards for my 8/2012 wedding.  Have 80/200.

Hey, I live in Marquette, too!  Just moved here last October.  I love it! Grin

I love sewing, knitting, quilting, cats.  Just getting into bags, but they're so much fun to make.  I've got an etsy store set up, and an artfire store, too.  I plan to start listing stuff around 4/1, after I get back from visiting my daughter and grandsons in Minneapolis later this month.

I'm married, and my hubby is disabled, so I need to work at home.  I've been doing internet marketing with some success, but I'm a little burned out, so I'm taking a break.  I used to weave rag rugs and sold quite a few when I lived in TN, but had to give it up as it was too hard on my wrists and shoulders.  Sewing bags is much easier and more fun.  Who knows, maybe I can even earn a few bucks from my addiction!  Wink

Maybe us Yoopers can get together sometime!

I hate to drag up dead posts, but...
I'm from the Munising area.
-le sigh- I wish there were more openly crafty people here... Also lesbians but, you know, that's another story. >.<

She's the butterflies in my stomach,
The hearts that lay scattered over every page.

She's the reason I smile when I'd otherwise cry,
And the enchanting young actress dominating my stage.

I think we're just quietly crafty.  I know at least a few more people in my area, but most of them are older ladies and not so much interested in the internet.  It's good to see there are some though.   Smiley
