Hey guys!  Me and SevsOnlyGirl have been chatting a bit about planning a spring meet up.  We were wondering if anybody would be able to meet up in Royal Oak (in the metro Detroit area) sometime this spring?

There is a cool yarn shoppe (I know the owners, they are super cool, and they have free coffee/tea/cocoa while you browse!), there's also a "make your own pottery" shop, and a whole bunch of quirky boutiques, resale shoppes, and coffee houses.  There is also a killer pastry shop, fab restaurants, a new designer toy shop, and a custom corsetry shop.

Plus, I live there, so if we get bored, we can all go to my house!

Yeah!!  If you're a yarn person, you might want to skip the yarn store and just head over to superhooker's house. Cheesy

Are we talking March/April/May?  I'm good for those.  It's close enough for me, Katelyn (my dd) and I could both come down.

Holy crap, Sevs, I just got the Royal Oak newspaper in the mail today, and a shop just opened up in town that makes custom wine!  all the wine is made right here in Royal oak, and they do custom orders...for if you want a fruity blend, or something more peppery than usual...or whatever, I'm not a big wine person, but I thought that sounded awesome!!

I so miss living down there!  I lived in Warren (Ryan & Topher), then over by the 13 & John R area, then in Clawson and then finally in Sterling Heights. Cheesy  I was all over the place.  The worst was the first one and the rest were just fine.

A wine place would maybe give us a little tour if we set it up ahead of time...just thinkin'...

Sounds like fun. I lived at 16 and Dequindre until I got married, though I didn't end up in Royal Oak very often.  For people that sew, I believe Christine Jonson's studio is in Royal Oak, as is Haberman Fabrics (though the latter is said to be quite pricey).

Btw, congrats on your mod-hood, superhooker!  Smiley

I live pretty much where I-75 meets I-696.  Yep, Haberman fabrics is over on Main.  I'd forgotten, but there's also a cross stitch shop (yep, all cross stitch!) and a new all-media art gallery just opened too.  It is painted all hot pink!

Sevs, the wine shop has free wine tasting!

and Thanks Muria!!

Hi everyone!

I'd be up for this, but the earlier the better for me. Once we hit April, I may not be able to make it and by May, I know I wouldn't be able to make it. (Boo for work - though it does pay for my yarn!)

Let's see:  mid-March I'll be away for a few days, April and May are great if it's on a Saturday.
