I would sit here and spend hours searching through craftster like I used to have the time to afford but this year I've finally gone into social service and my time away from work is extremely limited. I'm a fairly basic knitter (scarves & a couple of hats for the most part) but I wanted to make my boyfriend something fun for Christmas. He's in 4 different bands and aside from being vegan with me he doesn't have many interests that aren't music related. So I was hoping to get some help from my fellow craftsters. Any pattern links would be appreciated, even scarves since that's not out of my comfort zone & we only have a couple of weeks before d-day anyway.

Thanks a ton in advance!!!

How about a hat with one of the band logos duplicate stitched onto it??? I've only delved into the scarf and hat world myself, but I learned how to do duplicate stitch and it is sooooo easy!!! :-D Here is the article I used: http://www.purlbee.com/duplicate-stitch/ The best part of it is, if you do a hat (as opposed to a scarf) no one will be able to see the reverse side! Of course, I would probably pick the logo that was the easiest to recreate on a knitted object. Or if none of the bands have a logo, maybe stitch the name of one of them? Or maybe a simplified picture of the instrument he plays (or a mic if he sings)?

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

I'm knitting my boyfriend a cozy for his coffee mug as he is a man of beverages. (I haven't started yet either eek!) but I was going to try and put the "certified vegan" logo on it, (the one with the heart and the V in the middle.) I used this thiswebsite to generate the pattern.

I've never tried using two colors together though, I'm pretty new to knitting. I also found this website that shows how to stitch over your work to make an image, but it looks like you just knit it right in!

Maybe you could make him an ipod cozy, there are tons of examples in the Knitting completed projects.

In the past I've also made him a pair of fingerless gloves with the flap, but that was with crochet.

Hope this helps!

I've been thinking about this a lot (haha probably because I have a vegan boyfriend in a band as well) and if your boyfriend is like mine, maybe he rides a bike too? You could knit a nice thick cozy for the top bar on the frame of the bike.
