My Signature Recycled Bag

I have been busy crocheting kitchen towel sets these past weeks. Here is one full set below I crocheted with a towel topper using a double layer towel and then crocheted a potholder, greenie scrubber, and dishcloth to round out the complete set.

Greenie made from recycled lettuce netting sleeves

Star Christmas Dishcloth

I made several of each item and am going to put them together for kitchen sets for Christmas. I have all the patterns available for anyone who wants to make these for Christmas gifts. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2008/12/05/christmas-kitchen-towel-sets/

Great idea -- I just cleaned out my crisper and found green and red mesh fruit bags to use for the green scrubbie project -- nice little gift for my thrifty mother-in-law.

I said I would make one and I did!  Thanks for the pattern.  The mesh/yarn combo was a lot smoother to work with than I thought it would be and went quickly.  I used granny smith apple bags. Instead of looping the mesh I opened the bag into a rectangle and cut it into one continuous strip -- only used 2 bags that way.  I also added a double crochet border to increase the size a bit.  The second one is a pot holder using the same pattern.

I'm planning another set all in red for a friend with a red kitchen.

Oh I love your scrubbie and potholder. Thanks for the tip on using the netting too. I have some brown netting from ham that is not round so I was thinking of cutting them continuously in a long strip. I'm glad to know that works too.
