so this is the final product.  I made the phoenix from polyclay and posted it here in the correct topic since the phoenix was finished and made from clay.  since the finished piece is something you'd use to decorate a room, it's here.   Smiley

This is really cool!

I saw the Phoenix before, but added to the frame, and with all the marbles (i love marbles...) I think it's marvelous!

it really was hard to part with that bird, but I'll just have to make myself one.  Wink

I had originally just put marbles all around the frame, but then, after not knowing what to do with the phoenix, I realized that I could add it to the frame.  but that meant I had to pop off some marbles.  you can still see a little of the original glue, but really only when you take a picture of it.   Tongue
