I'm so proud!!!!!!
[/size]

Chipan is ready for a banana snack, but he would like to say hello to you first.  He hopes he will soon be joined by a rainbow of other little monkeys just like him.  I'll post more pics when he gets siblings.

I made this little guy from a Japanese language pattern book.  Chipan is my first crochet toy (I've made knitted ones before).  I think it came out better than any I ever knitted.  The crochet diagram and language barrier were challenging, but it just made the result more satisfying.

Hope you like!!!

Any book title info or pattern that you could be persuded to give out? I am on a crochet kick, small and gratifying...so I will pray to the munke gods that you might give us some further info on his creation.

Thanks for Sharing

Oh my God he's so cute!

I was just this moment about to go and work out how to do him after looking a some photos of him on Japanese sites. Did you actually translate the pattern in the book or did you kind of make it up...? If the latter could you possibly post a tutorial pretty pretty please?  Roll Eyes

Rat_Fink:

I basically just followed the pattern in the book.  My husband is learning Japanese, so he helped me translate some of it.  Japanese patterns are set out in charts rather than text, however, so most of the information is in illustration form rather than text.  Mostly, I just looked at the chart and compared it with the photos in the book.  There are instructional diagrams on what the chart symbols mean in the back of the book ( i.e. an x means single crochet) and on many general crochet pages.   Hope that helps!
