Hi all,

I am from England and am going on holiday in a couple of weeks to Las Vegas! I am very excited as it will only be the second time I have been to the US!! (the other time was 10 yrs ago!)

Being in England makes finding craft supplies a little difficult (we don't seem to have caught on yet!) and I really want to experience some of the US craft love you all seem to have Smiley I have heard about the chain stores like JoAnns and Michaels and even the depts in Walmart etc.

Well it would seem an utter waste not to try and get a little craftiness in on my trip, so basically I wondered whether there are any of those places in reasonable distance from The Strip? (we're staying in the Luxor). I can manage a taxi distance away... if I can get to the US in one peice I can certainly survive a car/bus journey!

We are in Vegas for about 5 days and as well as the normal touristy stuff (The Strip etc) if there are any other  places you think we should check out please let me know! Any cool/alternative music shop recommendations would also be good (that'll keep the boyfriend occupied!).

I hope you can help! Cheers, Lucy x

Close to the Luxor, there isn't much in the way of craft stores.  The closest Michael's would be at Charleston & Decatur in the Wal-Mart shopping center.  You can hit both in that stop.  Also, there is a JoAnn's up the street at Sahara & Decatur.  That JoAnn's is not very big compared to the others, but it is still all right.  As for record shops, there is one called Wax Trax on Decatur just south of Sahara.  Hope this helps. Jace
