Not long ago, I took an intro to crochet class to see if I could pick up some things to help me crochet a bit better. Since I already knew the stitches being taught, I had a tendency to do my own thing. So, while we were supposed to be practicing our treble crochet, I made a dishcloth instead. I did include the treble crochet, so I was sort of doing what I was supposed to be doing
It's pretty much 3 rows of hdc, followed by a row of trc. I did that 3 times, and ended with 3 rows of hdc. Then I put an edging on it.
I've written out the pattern, but I didn't test it (I wrote it after I finished), so I'm not 100% sure it makes sense. Let me know if you see anything I need to fix or clarify
Note: Turning chains count as first stitch of next row
Chain 27 (25 ch + 2 turning chains)
Row 1: hdc in fourth chain from hook; hdc across, ch 2, turn
Row 2: hdc across, ch 2, turn
Row 3: hdc across, ch 4, turn
Row 4: trc across, ch 2, turn
Rows 5 & 6: hdc across, ch 2, turn
Row 7: hdc across, ch 4, turn
Row 8: trc across, ch 2, turn
Rows 9-12: repeat rows 5-8
Rows 13-15: hdc across, ch 2, turn (At end of row 15, chain 1 only)
Edging: sc, chain 3 around. Along top and bottom edges, two hdc were skipped between each sc. Along sides, one sc into ends of first and third rows of hdc (or top and bottom of trc). Fasten off. Or,work desired edging.
