red fish . . . purple fish?

Soo I was on a fish kick for a while.  The background was a plain blue acrylic knit on size 10s, the rest of the pieces were free-knit out of scrap yarn.  The "seaweed" pieces were knit, then every other row of stitches was dropped to form the lace-like structure.

The entire blanket was backed with navy flannel and tie quilted so that the ties were only seen from the back.  The blanket was donated to project linus.

edit:  dimensions are about 48"x60"

Oh wow!  This is incredible and such a work of art!!  What a wonderful gift to donate.  I hope its eventual recipient gets much warmth and comfort from it in their time of need.

I hate to be aparrot, but I agree, this is amazing!  I don't think I've ever seen knitting put together that way.  It's so ornate, but so fun and cute!

OMG so beautiful.  I love fish!  How did you attach the knitting to the blanket?
