So last Christmas my good friend gave me that teal and purple reindeer.  It's SO up my alley as I'm a sucker for teal, I'm a sucker for purple, I'm a sucker for glitter and that thing is flocked AND marabou-ed!  It's the most Vegas/drag queen-y Christmas decoration around and I LOVE it!  When it came home it sat on my piano with Bigfoot for awhile and an idea hatched.  This is the result.

This would not have been possible w/o bsonlytoots who read my signature request for a Godzilla swap.  She crafted that lovely beast and was super awesome about requests and parameters!  I also have to thank kittykill who tried her damnedest to help me out, but things just didn't gel.  However, I got to meet her (we live pretty closely in the same city) and will hopefully continue to get to know her even more in the future.  Also special thanks to my friend, Sol Neelman, a pro photo journalist who helped guide me, took the pic and did the editing and all that - all for a trade of getting some ring-around-the collar out of a white linen shirt (http://solneelman.com/, http://weddings.solneelman.com/)!  Chump.  Wink

Thank you!  It's been awhile since I've been motivated and inspired, so it feels good to be back into it.

OMG I love love love this! I agree with sactownsue- I want to be on your mailing list! I'm sure your family and friends will love them. I totally admire people who make their own holiday cards. Usually the husband and I  just take a picture in front of our tree and then order our cards from Wal-Mart or something.

I'm writing a book here but I just have to share! My husband is in Iraq this year and for Thanksgiving, the local cooks that they employ made them a Thanksgiving dinner and decorated the dining facility. However, they really had no idea about Thanksgiving so some of the decorations were rather humorous. My husband's favorite was a 3 foot tall T-Rex. So I am loving T-Rex for Thanksgiving and Godzillas for Christmas. Really good job.

Thank you!  I certainly don't always make them myself, but back in the day when I didn't make them, I'd write a long, almost completely fictitious holiday family newsletter instead.

That T-rex story is so awesome!  And even perfect for me, as to my nieces and nephews (including the honorary ones) I am known as Auntie T-rex!  I was tempted to use a t-rex in my pic, because they were SO much easier to find, but they aren't mythological so wouldn't fit my theme.
