My first challenge entry.  I made these for my baby half-sister, Hannah.  Hannah is the first girl for my step-mom after having 3 boys.  She never really thought she was going to get a baby girl.  Since she's already painting Hannah's toenails and looking for cute things to put in her hair, I thought I would make Hannah some stretchy and soft headbands that were super girly.  I got the chance to try them on her when my step mom wasn't looking:

She has a funny look on her face in this one:

I made them with Lion Brand Fun Fur.  I chained 55, hdc in 3rd chain from hook and hdc in each chain across.  Fasten off.  Then I used a thin elastic headband I got in a package from the dollar store and wove it between the posts.  I tied off the elastic and joined the ends of the piece together.  The red flower is made from some leftover red wool yarn.  They turned out very soft and nice.

She's so blessed with such a clever big step sister

I don't know.  My step-mom was right around the corner, so I just left them on long enough to take the picture.  I want her to be surprised.

My guess would be that they wouldn't stay on just too long.  Like everything she gets her hands on now, they will probably end up in her mouth.

These are so sweet!  Know what this made me think of?  The wreaths girls wear in Scandinavia on St. Lucia day.  I bet you could make a lovely holiday one out of greens with some sort of red/gold accents...  Hmm...

Those are VERY lovely! I think that even a baby must love to wear them... but i could be wrong.  Wink  You could be very stylin if you made some for yourself! I think that the first one is really cute, but I like how full the second one looks. Awesome!

Update!  My step-mom put one on her on Christmas Day right after she opened them and Hannah left it on for hours!   I couldn't believe it!
