Harris Puppet Theater (picture plump)

I received Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol (angry chicken) for Christmas last year and I love the awesome kid stuff.  As we have no kidlets yet, my niece and nephews are the recipient of these frequent crafty urges. 

My niece is 5 and LOVES pink, her brother is 2 and loves everything.  Since this is a joint gift, I went for a gender-neutral palette.  I keep finding myself drawn to Alexander Henry fabrics without realizing it (bought a few more prints last night in fact).  It has a tension rod in the top to adjust to most doorways and it rolls up for storage in a matching case.  I added a marquee to the case (not part of the original instructions) using printable fabric.  And yes, that is ball fringe (Amy's suggestion and I have to say I love it!).

I LOVE this and so will they! I was planning on making a puppet theater for my daughter (not yet 1 year old) in a few years out of a refridgerator box or something but I think this is better! I hope you popped together some puppets for them so they can put on a show after dinner!

This seriously *rocks my socks*! You did such a fantabulous job, it looks great and every detail is wonderful (especially the adjustable rod at the top, very convenient). Your DH fully cracks me up, by the way.  You have a VERY luck niece and nephew!

Just curious, why is it called a "Harris Theater" ?

Thanks everyone!  It's called Harris Theater because that's their last name (Harris, not Theater).    Their first names were too long to fit so I went with the last name.

This is so wonderful.  When I was about 5 my brother made me a puppet theater for Christmas and I really loved it - I know your niece and nephew will too!

A puppet theater is one of the projects I did not get to for christmas and Bend the Rules Sewing was on my wishlist for Christmas that I did not get.  Maybe I will get it for myself and THEN make the puppet theater!
