I'm a skydiver, so I totally appreciate this!  This is ridiculously awesome!  And parachute material is such a pain in the butt to work with!  I can't imagine the patience that you had for this project.

And on a side note,  whatever part of your friend was covered by the parachute must have actually been pretty warm.  Survival techniques for pararescue would have you wrap yourself in your parachute to sleep in super cold climates.  Veeeery warm.

That's brilliant...I can so see this in a spy film.  "Don't worry that we're stuck out in the wilderness, let me just take off my dress and build a tent"  And it works even better for the film because it doesn't look like she has much on under it and you know they've always got to find a reason to take off the girls clothes :-)

Cool, and lovely at the same time. I loved playing with it in grade school, so crafting with one now would be a blast!

Wow, thanks for sharing this with us! That is seriously one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

I'm very excited for the pictures of the dress in its tent incarnation!
And the photos are beautiful!

Wow.  wow, wow, WOW.  The dress is amazing.  If that was red instead of orange, this could be my wedding dress.  It is simply gorgeous.  And your friend deserves props for the 28 degree weather photo shoot.  The pictures turned out amazing.  It looks like a fairy tale.
Congrats for such an amazing final.  You BETTER get an A+.
